The Good Life

Awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

This past weekend we had our annual "Its the Good Life" camping trip. Dom should have the photos up eventually.

Brief recap:

Jack Daniels is good in EVERYTHING.

Hehe, but lest you think all we did was drink, here's a bulleted listed of events:

Friday-
Arrive late, sit around the fire, laugh a lot.

Saturday- get up to a yummy breakfast of pancakes and sausage, then take off in canoes. We tooled around the river for a while, went to our favorite hiking spot and found a tree that had fallen and wedged itself in the fork of another tree. A natural teeter-totter!

-After jumping on as many old trees as we could ("but we're HELPING the trees to decay, making way for new life" yeah, plus it looked awesome on film when someone kicked a rotting tree stump and it totally exploded. very ninja.) we got back in the canoes and had dinner around the fire.

-I worked on improving my people skills by giving most of the people there a back and neck and head massage. (I'm working on becomeing a more touchy feely /open person.) I think I put one of them to sleep.

- And, of course, we finished Saturday with a midnight hike and star gazing session at the beach. We made up constilations, had semi-deep conversations, and had an awesome time.

Sunday:

-After putting around a bit in the morning, we has our Watchtower discussion, which is always encouraging. Everyone participated, and our discussion leader did an awesome job of drawing everyone out.

We then hopped in the canoes again and played in the park. Some of us went to the swings (thanks for the push, Dom! ;) and then we played tag. It felt really good to just let go and play and be silly.

This weekend was amazing. If I have time, I'll try to write a more indepth review of it. So glad everyone could make it, and I can't wait for next year
